THE INSTATRENDING DESK
A more readable signal.
The reading experience includes keyboard-friendly controls, clear structure, and options that respect reduced-motion preferences.
Navigation and reading
A skip link moves directly to the main content. Pages use one primary heading, descriptive links, and consistent navigation. The mobile navigation exposes its open or closed state, and article contents links lead to their corresponding headings without hiding them under the sticky header.
Motion and visuals
Decorative animations honor the browser’s reduced-motion preference. The homepage also offers a pause control for its moving topic strip. Important content does not depend on animation, color alone, or sound. Featured images have descriptive alternatives and declared dimensions.
Interactive controls
Mobile navigation, category filters, frequently asked questions, and copy-link controls are available through keyboard interaction. Filter counts and copy results are announced as status messages. Core reading and internal links remain available when JavaScript is disabled.
Different screens and printing
The layout adapts to narrow and wide viewports. Text can be enlarged with browser zoom. Articles include a print stylesheet that removes navigation and decorative elements while retaining the main text and source links.
